Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Global Watch Secondments help SMEs to send employees abroad or receive key people from another country. Experience has shown that these are very effective ways to acquire knowledge, advanced skills, and technology essential to develop a business strategically. You could improve performance, increase customer base, reduce costs, develop future links, and gain international experience from this initiative.

Grants for outgoing secondments can contribute to the following costs:
a. employment of the secondee
b. employment of a temporary replacement for the secondee
c. the secondee's subsistence whilst abroad
d. the return economy airfare
e. language and cultural training for the secondee

Incoming secondments attract a flat rate grant of up to £700 per week and a return economy class airfare.
