aimhi hosted digital media delegations from Sweden, Austria and Ireland on the 25th May in conjunction with HIE and PICT.

Representing over 80 companies in the Uppsala, Salzburg and Shannon regions; these representatives came over to the Highlands & Islands on a two day visit as part of the ongoing European Union Fifth Framework million euro project, 'ACCREDITS'. ACCREDITS seeks to accelerate creative clustering of regional enterprises through digital innovation strategies; and the Highlands & Islands private-sector component of the clustering network is represented by aimhi. 

After a day spent addressing the mechanics of encouraging inter-regional networking, aimhi took the delegation on a tour of the digital content companies typical to the region. The industry in the Highlands & Islands is much more dominated by micro-companies relative to that of our Irish, Austrians and Swedish partners, but it was also equally striking how cutting edge some of these companies were.

The Highlands & Islands companies that took part in the exercise were encouraged by the level of interest shown by the visitors in  exploiting new business opportunities that came about as a result of the networking.
