25 December 2003
Over 120 aimhi
members and guests affirmed bonds to the region and the creative industry at
Carbisdale Castle on the weekend before Christmas. Despite the inclement
weather, almost everyone in attendance stayed on well past midnight, with the
last two dozen or so party-goers still going strong at three in the morning. The
get-together was mostly successful, with only two guests
accidentally trapped in the secret passageway of the Marble Room. The rumour of
the night was the existence of video footage of certain West Coast guests
dancing a little too enthusiastically and inadvertently answering that millennia
old question
about Scotsmen and their kilts.
Before
driving off into the sunrise the next morning, aimhi chair Ali Murray said, "The fact that
so many like minded people sought each other out at a very special venue made
for a wonderful night and shows we are all moving in the right
direction".
Many thanks to all
those who have braved elements and long distances to attend, and
to our friends from the Film Commission, Channel4 Ideasfactory,
BBC Scotland, Moray Firth Radio, Business Labs, Pict and Highlands &
Islands Enterprise for
making it all possible. aimhi would particularly like to thank Lesley Riddoch for coming despite feeling under the weather.
