Channel4 Ideasfactory Highlands & Islands rolled out an exciting scheme last month to blood young people into the music industry last month. The Make Tracks Program gives 10 young trainees who want to work in music recording, management and promotion a chance to take on a role in a new online record label. The 10 trainees were announced in Sept 27, and comes from all over the Highlands & Islands.
Together, the team will select, produce and promote an online recording of Highlands & Islands bands and plan a UK tourto promote the relese. The recording will also have a limited release in CD format and be made available as an online download. For those who display a real commitment to developing their music production career during this project, Ideasfactory will set up some additional major national and international work experience opportunities.
