aimhi at Fort William

Fort William will be roaring on the 18th and 19th of February during a high profile creative industries showcase. The event kicks off on 6pm with performances from exciting Scottish bands like Capercaille, Dionyssus and Spindrift. On the 19th, there will be a series of workshops and seminars targeted at those working in, or wanting to work in, the creative industries.

aimhi will present a workshop on the 19th titled 'Standard Media, New Media: 101 Ways to Make a Fun Living from the Creative Industries'. The aimhi workshop will start at noon in the Grand Hotel, Fort William, and will include speakers like Norrie MacLaren of Plantagenet Films, Gordon Ross from Genuine Games, and David Drysdale from DM4. Norrie has worked at Channel4 and in film with the likes of Stanley Kubrick and his photography have been showcased around the world by the British Council. Gordon Ross is CEO of one of Scotland's most exciting games companies, his last game sold out in Germany within days of issue. David Drysdale is an expert in corporate communications and founding chair of aimhi. There will be a networking session for aimhi members during the workshop, refreshments will be provided and attendance is free. Also represented in the workshops will be organisations like the Musicians Union, Lochaber Enterprise, HIE, The Princes Trust, Careers Scotland, Channel4, Scottish Arts Council, and Hi-Arts.
