The European Digital Media Network (www.europeandigitalmedia.com - sometimes referred to regionally as Accredits) has been operating for the last two years and previous calls for membership resulted in over 20 Highlands and Islands companies signing up at no cost. The current Programme is closing at the end of June and a second phase (EDMS2) is expected to commence with EU approval later in the summer. 

The Network currently has the capability to support discrete travel and subsistence costs of member companies for the following activities;

·         to develop and research new markets

·         to attend relevant trade and research fairs

·         to meet other member companies

·         to develop collaborative work(research or business)

 

Some members have been more active than others in this regard and a recent request to use up residual Programme budgets has been taken up by three Scottish firms. However, there are still some funds left and it has been decided to offer companies that are not currently members another opportunity to participate. In order to do this the following is relevant:

1. Any company wishing to take up the offer should sign up as a member on the Web site at www.europeandigitalmedia.com or else contact am@atlantic-marketing.co.uk.

2. Budgets must be used before the second Programme begins and proposals will require signing off before the end of June. We would suggest that any trips vetted take place before end July 2005.

3. Given the urgency any incoming proposals will be looked at on a first come first served basis.

4. Travel and subsistence terms and conditions are:

i) Advance approval from the regional partner.

ii) Up to a maximum 50% and minimum of 35% of travel and subsistence expenses incurred.

iii) A proposal is required that includes objectives, potential outcomes and estimates of expenses.

iv) A written report is required after the mission.

 

For Accommodation, subsistence, travel, taxis and public transport only receipted expenses eligible. (Any flights should be the lowest fare available - business class not being eligible – and car costs are at €0.50 per mile - limited to your own country and where public transport is not a realistic option- car hire being in-eligible).
