Creative industries has been identified as one of the priority sectors for HIE in the future, and is already the world’s fastest growing industry sector. The music industry is the UK’s third largest industry, and has the potential to be a significant sector in the Highlands and Islands, if businesses in the region look to develop the full range of potential revenue streams.
goNORTH is hosting a panel in conjunction with UK Trade and Investment featuring all of the main trade organisations from the UK music industry. The panel will cover topics such as international markets, increased revenue from royalties, publishing, changes in the industry and the impact of the web and new business models.
