Graduate Placement offers a great opportunity for both the graduate and the host company. While the graduate gains much needed business experience the company benefits from a fresh perspective and the opportunity to bring in new skills to their business.
Lochaber Graduate Placement Programme
The Lochaber Graduate Placement Programme (LGPP) offers grant funding from HIE Lochaber and the European Social Fund to local businesses that can offer a suitable position to a graduate.
The programme aims to keep young graduates in Lochaber and also to attract them to the area. The graduate placement can be for up to 12 months duration – ideally with the potential to become a fill time position. The position offered, must however, be additional.
The programme allows business to identify a key development issue and provides 50% wage subsidy towards bringing someone in with specific skills and a fresh out look to work on the project.
A flexible training package of up to £1,000 is also available for each graduate. As the employer you will be involved in deciding how this training fund can best be used.
